DJ Fashion is known as the “Remix King” by all who knows his work. He remixes songs from Hip Hop, Reggae, R & B, Compas, Zouk, to even Rock & Roll. DJ Fashion was born in Kingston, Jamaica but grew up in the Bronx, New York. As a youth, he would hang around his brother who was a Jamaican Selector rolling with Tony Screw from Down Beat Sound. DJ Fashion started to DJ in his early teenage years for house parties, then local schools and clubs in New York such as Latin Quarter, Union Square, Roxy’s, The Tunnel, Lime Light and Palladium where he played alongside Funk Master Flex, Red Alert, Kid Capri and DJ Clue. At those clubs, he met Afrika Bambaataa, the founder of the Zulu Nation and went on tour with him. They played in the hottest clubs in countries like Japan, Belgium, Italy, Germany, France, Holland, Spain, Belize, Bahamas, Bermuda, Jamaica, Canada, England and Barcelona.
DJ Fashion is also known on the college circuit where he was the guest DJ in quite a few states for a number of years. DJ Fashion produced and remixed songs for entertainers such as Brand Nubians, Fat Joe, Grand Puba, Sweet Sable, Sting, D-Nice, Tribe Called Quest, Afrika Bambaataa, Broadway and EMF which went GOLD! DJ Fashion has his own 32 track Recording Studio and record label, DJ Runnin Things/Roor Records where he drops underground Hip Hop, R & B and Reggae remixes for the clubs and dance halls.
DJ Fashion had one of the hottest shows on the #1 Caribbean Station, Mixx 96.1 FM and Hip Hop Station, Blaze 104.7 FM in Miami. He plays in clubs around Miami, like Liquids, Shadow Lounge, Club Space, Peppers Café, Crystal, Deco Drive, Club Salvation, Amnesia, Ginger Bay and Madhouse. He has an extensive record collection of R & B, Hip Hop, Reggae, and Jazz and has appeared on MTV, BET and some local music videos in Miami, New York, and abroad.
DJ Fashion has gone back to his home grounds in Jamaica to DJ alongside some of the best Jamaican sounds like, Stone Love, Tony Matterhorn, Fire Links, Nitro, Rennaissance Disco, and in Miami he played alongside Metro Media, Bass Odessy, and Afrique. He has many years of experience in the music business and is continuously working on new things.
